 | EveFirst mother, first woman. Blamed for the "fall" from Eden, blamed for bringing sin into the world. She is all women, Maiden, Mother, and Crone, in an unending cycle. Adam's first two wives escaped this cycle, Lilith, his first wife, created as part of him, a hermaphrodite, ran away after they were separated, and stayed forever young, mother to countless demons that are said to haunt and hunt man. His second wife, a poor unnamed girl, was deserted by Adam, because he saw God make her, from the inside and out, he saw the blood and bile and mucus that makes up a human being, and it disgusted him. She stayed forever the unnamed maiden, if she even survived. And she is the reason Adam was put to sleep when Eve was created, so he would not again see what human beings are made of. And it was left to Eve to take the fruit of the garden, given to her by the serpent, and give it to Adam, and create the first act of disobedience. |
